Serves 6 to 8
Mix beef with next five ingredients. Shape into 12 balls. Place vegetables in large pot, top with meatballs. Add seasonings, tomato and mushroom sauce and water. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover, simmer 45 minutes. Add cooked matzo balls, cover and cook 15 minutes longer, basting frequently.
