Entry Deadline December 31, 2010
SECAUCUS, NJ (October 2010) — Get ready to dive into your recipe rolodex and kitchen for the launch of the 5th Annual Man-O-Manischewitz Cook-Off. The nationally esteemed cooking contest will feature entrants as they prepare family-friendly recipes incorporating the new Manischewitz All-Natural broths. The competition encourages home chefs to experiment with Kosher products while preparing delicious recipes that could become a new family favorite or that have been shared from generation to generation. Perhaps these recipes can be inspired by traditional Jewish fare or a cherished memory of a favorite family meal. The competition is designed to showcase the benefits of using Kosher products as part of the home cooking experience and to think about preparing traditional Jewish foods in the same way people enjoy preparing Japanese, Italian, Mexican, Chinese and other popular ethnic cuisines. More than 10,000 people of different backgrounds and ages have entered this competition over the past four years.
Finalists will compete live in New York City, for the $25,000 Grand Prize, in front of an esteemed panel of judges consisting of food media and other culinary experts. The grand prize package includes GE Profile kitchen appliances, cash and more! Recipes must include one of the Manischewitz All-Natural broth flavors including the new All-Natural Vegetable broth which joins the existing line of beef, chicken and reduced sodium chicken flavors. Five finalists will win an all-expense paid trip to NYC to compete live on March 31 at the Jewish Community Center of Manhattan. The contest deadline is December 31, 2010. Four finalists will be chosen by the judging panel. Five semi-finalists will be posted on www.manischewitz.com and from January 17 - 31, consumers will be able to vote online, and via Facebook and Twitter, to select the fifth finalist.
