Hey kids—and kids at heart! Here are a few simple games to play on Passover. After all, who could pass on a little Passover fun?
20 Questions about the 10 Plagues
- One player thinks of one of the 10 Plagues
- Another player asks a question about the Plague that can be answered "yes" or "no"
- The person with the Plague in mind answers simply "yes" or "no"
- After hearing the answer, the player who asked the question takes a guess on what the Plague is
- If the answer is incorrect, the next player asks a question and so on, up to 20 questions
- The player who gets the answer correct thinks of another Plague and the game continues until all 10 Plagues have been covered
Magic Max's Passover Trick
- Fill a clear bowl with water
- Sprinkle Paprika on top of the water. Voila! Now you have the Red Sea
- Coat your finger with dishwashing liquid
- Run your finger through the Red Sea in the Bowl
- It's magic! The Red Sea parts
Seder It Isn't So!
- One player says a food out loud that either is or isn't part of Passover tradition
- If the food is part of Passover tradition, the next player explains what its meaning is
- For example, if the first player says, "Beitzah" (the roasted egg), the next player should explain it is a symbol of life
- If the food is not part of Passover tradition, the player instead says, "Seder it isn't so!" and explains why
- For example, if the first player says, "a bagel with lox," the next player should say, "Seder isn't so!" and explain that bagels are "chametz," a food that has leavened or risen
- Everyone takes turns and the game continues
